31 Weeks: Bumpdates

This week is starting out as a really hot one! I can’t believe we are moving along at 31 weeks, and I also can’t wait for it to cool down outside.

Baby ninja moves: Baby is trying to expand her surroundings. This morning, I woke up at 2:30 AM to pee and then I was wide awake and couldn’t fall back asleep. I lay in bed looking at baby names on my phone and was thinking how I wished she would give me a little kick to let me know she’s there.

She then proceeded to have a dance party in my belly, which does not help with sleep. I fell back asleep around 3:15 and then woke up at 5:15 wishing I could stay in bed, but my alarm called. I love her dance parties, though.

Baby size: She feels like a wiggly otter this week!

Exploring: MommyCon. I went to MommyCon in DC last weekend, which was quite an event. I don’t know if I would do it again, although maybe if it was in another location. It’s a big convention that focuses on cloth diapers (which I’m interested in) and baby-wearing.

Also, sob story: I had a snack mid-morning and then during the scheduled lunch break, I took a (super hot) walk to Chipotle and ordered a bowl. Then I realized I wasn’t that hungry and I was too full to finish more than half my bowl. So I threw away half a bowl of Chipotle, which is not cool. Then, on my way home about three hours later, I was ravenously hungry. Luckily, I packed a snack.

The Con was not bad and I learned a little and got lots of vendor names to check out online, but it was really crowded and I dislike driving in downtown DC. I bought a few cool nursing infinity scarves that I love:

Craving: Watermelon and brownies! I simply had to have a watermelon the night I got back from DC, so I stopped at a farmer’s market and picked one up. Then I really wanted homemade brownies, so I cooked some up and am enjoying them one by one, since I stuck them in the freezer to make them last this week. Not sure how long they will actually last at this point, but they are delicious.

Good news! We found out Greg should get home soon, and I put in my two weeks notice at work to be able to enjoy some time at home and get some things done.

  1. You baby bump is looking so cute right now ! I love that the app you are using tells you the size of the baby and little cute facts of the animals.
Mommycon sounds so interesting. I'm not a Mommy but I do like the ideas of cloth diapers as well.

I'm dieting for the next 2 weeks and those brownies made me think twice. hehe 🙂

  2. YIPPEE for Greg coming home & some time to enjoy each other & get stuff done!
Sounds like baby is playing with your food wants/needs/cravings 🙂
I hate when I feel full but feel starving not too long after. So not fair

  3. Girl, I have been wanting brownies since I saw a coworker eat one last week. So rude, right??? I have got to make them soon. VERY SOON!!!Mommycon sounds interesting. I want to want cloth diapers but ummmm I am thinking disposable would make my life so much easier! And I dont know anyone IRL that has gone cloth. Yay for Greg coming home!!!

  4. I love that fox print scarf! Although I never, not once in my entire history of breastfeeding two kids, nursed in public, and by public I mean in front of anyone other than my husband (including parents/friends). But I'm weird.
Exciting news that Greg is coming home!!! Now you can decide on a name. Obviously I've been very concerned about this. 🙂

  5. yay mommy con! how cool! so jealous. this might sound super weird, but if you ever want to talk about cloth diapers and you don't know anyone in real life you can talk to them about…. i'm here! i know i am childless, but you know i'm a weirdo with research and stuff, plus i know a few people in real life who do cloth diaper, and i might have a small stash already don't judge me, k?
or, just ignore that and yay wiggly otters!

  6. The MommyCon thing sounds really interesting and over whelming at the same time. Glad you got some good information at least. Such a bummer about Chipolte, though! 😦 On the bright side, glad to hear Greg will be home soon!! 🙂

  7. I live in a small town so when I go to a con at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando I always want to have a meltdown because finding parking is always a pain in the ass. When I went to MegaCon in May I totally had a meltdown in the car and wanted to drive back home because I was alone and I couldn't find a spot to park. But I sucked it up and told myself to get it together and I found a spot, and I had a great time. 😀 Conventions are fun though and I'm glad you learned a lot at this MommyCon! Also, you look SOOOO cute with your bump!

  8. Finding a parking spot was a huge pain at this con. I would think that there would be signs for parking at a convention center, but nope. I had to drive around several different blocks before Google mapping the closest one. I considered the same thing haha… I thought of just going back home because it was hot and I was alone and didn't feel like dealing with the stress. I'm glad I went, though.
