What’s New?

What’s new in my life, lately? I feel like everything is new. I am a lady surrounded by cats and no husband. They try to do this all day long. They are even in roughly the same position as I speak, and this was from yesterday.

Roommates:
Greg is gone for six months and these are my companions. They have terrible breath.

Furniture:
We went to IKEA before Greg left, and bought a few new things. We traded out our old bookcase for a taller one with more space.

Greg secured it to the wall so it doesn’t topple on top of one of us and trap us beneath any Harry Potter volumes or Swedish wooden shelving, which would be a terrible situation, especially if I was depending on the cats to save me.

Here it is all built! I need more books to fill it up. The old bookcase was overflowing with this amount of books.

We also found a couple other cool things, like this scarf hanger. It ended up saving me a ton of space on the coat racks they were on.

And, finally, we got this cute new shower curtain.

I’m still getting used to living alone for now, but hopefully it will start to feel a little better with time. Luckily, there are plenty of people around me to talk to and hang out with. Greg is still adjusting to his schedule overseas, so it may take us both a while to get used to it.

  1. oh hey thanks for linking up with us girl! i might have missed it, but why is Greg overseas for 6 months? that sucks, though cats are pretty awesome companions 😉 though definitely not going to save you if a bookshelf fails. you definitely need more books!

  2. That scarf hanger is amazing. I have a lot of scarfs I hang behind my door… but this type of scarf hanger is WAY better. I like the new bookshelf! I have decided to start buying more books instead of checking them out from the library in hopes that I can build a book collection to display on a cute bookshelf 😀

  3. I see that scarf hanger every time I go to Ikea and always think about getting it but never do :\
And my cat does that all the time. Wherever I'm sitting he tries to fit next to me and ends up making me so uncomfortable but weirdly happy at the same time! 🙂

  4. It so weird to get used to having them gone, isn't it? My husband traveled a lot in the past few years, and several times he stayed away for a few months. You form a new routine, but it's weird to do that too, somehow, like you shouldn't get too used to them being gone 🙂
I hope your companions are behaving! Love th shot of the bookshelf, I love browsing through other people's bookshelves 🙂 I see Divergent there!
